If you’re looking for something spectacular to attend with the family on Australia Day this year don’t miss out on the historic ‘Carcoar Village Fair’. One of the Central West’s prettiest heritage villages – hundreds of people visit Carcoar each year to take part in their impressive Australia Day celebrations.
With re-enactments, rides, food, Australia Day parade and stalls – there is something for every member of the family. If you get there early enough you can rent your own dress-ups! The re-enactments depict the battles between the Bushrangers and Troopers around the goldfields in the 1800’s. For more details, visit Carcoar’s website below:
Most towns in the Central West will be holding a special family-friendly day out at their town’s central park, bowling club or local swimming pool. Visit your council website (via our region page on the RDACW website, click through below) or call them to find out what fun festivities are planned locally for your Australia Day.
What better way to celebrate than by welcoming your community’s newest citizens or congratulating your local Australia Day Award recipients by attending their ceremonies and sharing some lamingtons! This is the perfect day to celebrate our country’s cultural diversity and to come together to celebrate your local community. And, you can enjoy a sleep-in on Monday morning with the public holiday!
Happy Australia Day from the team at RDA Central West!
