Students across the Central West region have been given a significant opportunity to showcase their excellence in STEM-based learning gained during 2019.
Schools have been invited to submit either existing projects they have worked on during the year, or if they feel inspired, they can submit totally new projects for consideration in the inaugural SISP STEM Awards 2019.
The Awards will provide an opportunity for the NSW Department of Education schools in the region to showcase their winning approach to learning.
The SISP STEM Awards are now open at: www.stemawards.com.au/central-west/ and CLOSE at 5pm on Monday 18 November 2019.

More than 100 female students from three local Orange schools have been involved in exciting and engaging STEM Entrepreneurship workshops thanks to the support of Regional Development Australia (RDA) Central West and the STEM Industry School Partnerships Program (SISP).
Earlier this month the awards for the SISP NRMA Future of Transport Challenge 2019 were presented to students from Mullion Creek Public School.
In partnership with NRMA, the STEM Industry School Partnership Program (SISP) challenged students to create an innovative product or service which addresses a real-world need through human-centred design thinking. The NRMA Challenge is all about investigation, collaboration and entrepreneurship to solve a local transport problem, with a focus in Orange on new transport technologies and how they can improve the delivery of local produce to customers from the Central West.(more…)
We are all really excited here at RDA Central West about the recent news enabling us to expand the STEM Industry School Partnerships (SISP) program into more rural towns and schools across the Central West in 2019.
Following the highly successful pilot that ran in three NSW regions in 2018 (Central West, Hunter and Southern Inland) the NSW Department of Education has committed funding for 2019.
Late last year the RDA Central West’s SISP Program gave Year 5 and 6 students from the Canobolas Academy of STEM Excellence (CASE) Partner Primary Schools the chance to win their own drone by creating a poster of a drone that make any job easier, faster and better.
Students from Canobolas Rural Technology High School and Orange High School experienced AgriTech and the latest technologies first hand the AgriTech Experience Day put on by RDA Central West and the Canobolas Academy of STEM Excellence on Friday 23rd November. (more…)
On Wednesday 21st November the STEM Industry School Partnership (SISP) Project joined forces with James Karbowiak Site Manager and Kaushal Pathirana Technical Manager from MSM Milling and visited Clergate Public School.
RDA Central West in conjunction with CASE, the Canobolas Academy of STEM Excellence held a STEM Industry Partnership Program (SISP) Design Thinking Workshop at Orange Agricultural Institute on Monday 12th November 2018.
The course facilitator and teacher was Glenn Lawrence a knowledgeable educator who loves helping students design and create. Professionally, Glenn has worked as an industrial designer in both Australia and China and has over 10 years of experience as a TAS teacher in NSW secondary schools.
