The Federal Government has provided $15 million to assist the Foundation for Regional and Rural Renewal with its Tackling Tough Times Together program.
Grants of up to $20,000 are now available across drought-affected communities nationally. A smaller number of grants valued at up to $60,000 and $150,000 are also available for larger-scale and multi-year projects that have a broader impact. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and assessed quarterly.
Through the program the Foundation will operate a rolling small grants program to support drought affected regional communities. Grants will be distributed quickly across all States and Territories to regions impacted by drought.
Small grants will be available to not-for-profit community groups to deliver projects in drought-affected regions focusing on reducing social isolation, leadership development and skills training, social and educational participation, addressing disadvantage caused by the drought, reducing volunteer fatigue, building capacity and supporting local economic recovery or renewal.
This funding will support community-based activities to relieve current stressors and symptoms while also building capacity and resilience for the future..
Tackling Tough Times Together is a rolling grants program, which means that applications will be accepted at any time.
