Local farmers and business owners from Canowindra, Cargo, Gooloogong, Grenfell, Parkes and Nashdale attended the Succession and Transition Planning Workshop hosted by Regional Development Australia Central West (RDA Central West) last week.
Held at the Canowindra Services and Citizens Club on Friday morning, presenters included Weston Ryan, Principal at pmwPlus; Graeme Hay, Director of Barrack Broking; and Alli Gartrell, Executive Director Program Delivery for the Regional Investment Corporation (RIC).
The main topics discussed included the importance of business transition planning, understanding strategies for mitigating risk and the types of support and loans offered through the Regional Investment Corporation such as the AgriStarter loan.
RDA Central West CEO, Sam Harma said the workshop was a way to help get the conversation started about planning for the future.
“Planning and preparing for the future is vital for any business whether it’s a family operated business, a small business in town or a farming enterprise,” said Mr Harma.
“The workshop was a fantastic opportunity to hear from three local experts and learn more about the tools and strategies that can facilitate these conversations at work or at home.
This workshop was delivered thanks to the support of Cabonne Council.
