RFDS Mental Health Outreach Grants

The Australian Government has announced a total of $20 million over four years for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Mental Health Outreach Activity as part of the Stronger Rural Health Strategy.

The intended outcome of the grant opportunity is to support people living, working and travelling in rural and remote areas of Australia by ensuring access to mental health outreach services where there are little or no other services.

The objective of the RFDS Mental Health Outreach Activity is to deliver:
• Mobile and outreach mental health services, beyond the Normal Medical Infrastructure;
• Mobile and outreach mental health services on a period basis where there are no other private or public services, including no MBS billable services; and
• Flexibly planned and conducted outreach mental health services based on need and the programs priorities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and other service providers, including the communities receiving the service.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is invited to apply for this targeted non-competitive Grant Opportunity. The RFDS is the only organisation eligible to apply.
