The NSW Government is asking local organisations to submit innovative projects to make their communities safer.
Community-based organisations and local businesses that have an idea to prevent crime in their area can apply for funding from the Community Safety Fund.
The Community Safety Fund provides up to $250,000 for projects that:
- address local crime hot spots
- address anti-social behaviour in communities
- promote safer and inclusive use of public space; and
- promote collaborative approaches to community safety, crime reduction, prevention and detection initiatives.
The Community Safety Fund has supported 52 projects since 2015. Projects include street lighting to improve resident safety, youth-focused initiatives and an Apprehended Violence Order education program to reduce domestic violence.
Applications close at 5pm on Friday 10 August.
