National Stronger Regions Fund
The Australian Government has opened the new National Stronger Regions Fund (NSRF) which will invest $1 billion over the next five years to promote economic development into regional areas. The focus of the program is to support investment in priority infrastructure areas. Examples of possible priority areas include freight and transport projects, convention centres, and major multi-purpose sports and community facilities.
It is open to local government and not-for-profit organisations with Round 1 applications accepted until 5pm 28th November 2014.
Round 2 applications will open in May 2015.
For more information on the NSRF, including guidelines, FAQs and application details, visit the National Stronger Regions Funds website.
