Message from the CEO – Julia Andrews

Julia AndrewsThis year, one of the priorities of RDA Central West is to work with the Growing Lachlan team to deliver a Western Area Business Forum in the Lachlan Shire to build business capability and networking, to help them establish links to start-up and innovation hubs currently gaining momentum in larger regional centres and to help promote the western area as being pro-active and open to new business growth opportunities.

Growing Lachlan, an alliance of organisations including the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation, the Lachlan Shire Council, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and Interagency Groups, has identified four key priority areas in order to build a strong and prosperous community – community renewal, economic development, youth and elderly care and community safety.

This week, I am looking forward to getting away from the desk and taking the beautiful drive through Forbes, Condobolin and out to Lake Cargelligo to attend a Business Gathering organised by Growing Lachlan and Lower Lachlan Community Services. This is a networking event – a chance to recognise and celebrate the achievements of local business owners. For RDA, it is an opportunity to meet business owners and community members and learn more about the issues that are important to the community. It is an opportunity to make connections and join dots, to identify opportunities that we just can’t do sitting behind our desk in Orange.

It is a great pleasure and privilege to work with community groups such as Growing Lachlan. Their dedication, hard work and professionalism certainly make our job of finding and leveraging opportunities for growth easier.
