Strengthening Rural Communities

Grants for communities in small rural, regional and remote locations in Australia to support a broad range of community needs are currently open through the Strengthening Rural Communities Program. Not-for-Profit community-based organisations are invited to apply for Small and Vital grants of up to $10,000 to fund projects and programs that will enhance community life.

Applications for the current round of Small and Vital grants close 24 March, 2020.

Festivals Australia Program

Festivals Australia will fund high-quality arts projects that allow community members living in regional or remote Australia to participate in or appreciate an arts driven experience. The funding can be used to support individual art projects at festivals or significant one-off community events, such as a town’s centenary celebration or opening of a new community resource.

Destination NSW Regional Event Fund

The Regional Event Fund supports events in regional NSW that have the potential to act as a ‘cornerstone’ or flagship tourism event for their area and includes the following two funding streams:

Micro Event Fund is a new stream developed as part of NSW’s 2019-20 bushfire and drought recovery program and offers grants of $10,000 to support the delivery of smaller community-based events with limited expenditure budgets in regional NSW areas impacted by drought or the recent bushfire activity.

The Flagship Event Fund offers annual grants of $20,000 or triennial grants of $27,500 to support the marketing of events which have been running in regional NSW for more than two years. The aim is of the grant is to support events that contribute to the unique character and culture of a region.

Applications for both funding streams close 25 March, 2020.
