Businesses in Central West NSW are invited to attend this free two-hour workshop on intellectual property (IP) for regional entrepreneurs – ‘Demystifying IP for Ag-Tech Entrepreneurs in the Central West’ hosted at the newly opened GATE – Global Ag Tech Ecosystem precinct at the NSW Department of Primary Industries, Orange Agricultural Institute site.
The workshop is open to all and will assist learning about why IP is so important to businesses and how it is treated in emerging technology markets.

- IP ownership issues – who’s an inventor?
- The value of IP – what’s the point?
- Case Studies
The workshop will be presented by Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys FB Rice experts: Charles Yip, Senior Associate, registered Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney with a mechatronic engineering background; and Dr Lee Miles, Associate in the Biotechnology team, who have an in depth understanding of ag-tech and Australian legal context.
