CENTRAL WEST SKILLED VISA INFORMATION SESSION

Regional Development Australia Central West is partnering with the Department of Home Affairs for a free webinar on skilled regional visas, the Global Talent program and general COVID-19 impacts and assistance.

Home Affairs NSW Regional Outreach Officer (ROO), Servet Brennan, will host the 90 minute webinar on Thursday, 24 September 2020 from 12pm to 1:30pm.

RDA Central West CEO, Sam Harma said the information session aims to provide more detail to local employers and stakeholders in the Central West who may be seeking to fill positions that cannot otherwise be filled by Australian workers.

“The Skilled Migration Program is making an important contribution to the region’s economy and it is also providing more options for employers who cannot fill a position with local labour,” said Mr Harma.

“In some regions employers are struggling to find the right skilled staff locally and so the best fit is often skilled workers from overseas.

“The benefits are two-fold as these positions also offer a pathway to permanent residency and present an opportunity for a migrant family to establish a quality lifestyle in a regional Australian community.

“The Federal Government is committed to boosting skills in regional Australia and there are new incentives for overseas skilled workers to live and work in regional areas so I’m pleased the Department of Home Affairs have come on board for this webinar to provide more information and answer any questions.”

“I encourage employers and interested community members from across the Central West to register for the information session and find out more about skilled work visa options, regional migration and the benefits it could have for local businesses and skilled migrants.”

Attendees are encouraged to submit visa program questions in advance by emailing migration@rdacentralwest.org.au. Please note individual circumstances cannot be discussed by the Regional Outreach Officer during the webinar.

The information session is free however registration is essential. Sign up for the webinar at https://centralwestskilledmigrationforumwebinar.eventbrite.com.au
