For people keen to offer support during the drought this campaign is a practical and direct way they can help support local small business in regional and rural NSW during the drought and beyond. A sister hashtag #stayinthebush has also just been launched encouraging city siders to visit our towns – to stop, shop and stay.
A new NSW Government campaign #BuyRegional / #BuyRegionalThisChristmas is also working to connect city shoppers and rural sellers with FREE business listings available online at: https://www.nsw.gov.au/improving-nsw/regional-nsw/buy-regional-this-christmas/
The Buy Regional hub is divided into six categories: Wine, Fashion, Food, Gifts for Kids, Art & Design, and Christmas hampers to help shoppers easily find gifts for Christmas. If you are a small business operating in regional NSW and would like to feature on the Buy Regional site, contact them directly: e. buyregional@dpc.nsw.gov.au
#BuyFromTheBush founder Grace Brennan said she turned to social media to help businesses find new customers outside of their drought stricken communities and was amazed when the number of Instagram Followers sky- rocketed from zero to 26,000 in eight days! They now have 115k and still counting!
